STEPS TO STUDY IN CANADA

Canada welcomes hundreds of millions of international students from across the globe and is becoming one of the most preferred study destinations for international students. While some people find the process to apply to study in a foreign land overwhelming and daunting, but fear not, this can be achieved in five simple steps.

Step 1: Find your Future World-Class School and/or Program

The beginning to any process is figuring out what you wish to study and at which institution you wish to pursue your education. Regardless of your education history, there is an available option for everything. Not only do you have the choice of program, but you can also choose the type of community you wish to stay in. Be it a small, welcoming rural area, or a large vibrant community, Canada's got it all.

Each province and school set their own admission requirements and you should fulfil these requirements in order to be eligible to study in Canada.

Step 2: Find out how to Fund your Studies

Once you have decided what program you wish to pursue and the school you wish to study at, the next step is to figure out how to fund your study. Studying in Canada is in fact very affordable when compared to other English-speaking countries.

You should budget not only for the tuition fees, but also for living expenses like food, housing, transportation, insurance, etc. Although a student is permitted to work 20 hours a week during their course of study, it is still advisable to budget for the entire duration.

There are also different ways to finance your education, such as, scholarships, fellowships, grants, loans, working during studies, or support from parents and/or family.

Step 3: Aplpy to the School of your Choice

Once you have selected the program and figured out how to fund your studies, it's time to apply to the school of your choice. When applying, you must provide accurate information and submit all the documents as required by your school. In case additional documents or information is required, the school will request it. Please note that most institutions will take a non-refundable application fees to submit an application to study at the institution.

Every institution has a specific deadline for application. Since the admission and visa process take time, it is advised to apply as early as possible.

Step 4: Apply for a Study Permit and Visa

Once you receive a letter of acceptance (LOA), commonly referred to as an offer letter, you will be required to apply for a Study Permit. This study permit will allow you to stay in Canada during your course of study in Canada. You will also be issued a Student Visa, along with a Study Permit, which is required to enter and exit Canada through any Port of entry/exit in Canada.

step 5: Prepare to go to Canada

Once you have received your student visa, you can travel to Canada. Your Study Permit will be issued at Immigration at the port of entry. Before your trip, you can arrange housing, get a travel and health insurance, book flights, and prepare all documents and things you will be bringing with you to Canada.
