Proof Of Funds

Proof of funds shows that you have enough money to settle in Canada. If you are invited to apply, you must give written proof that you have the funds.

You need proof of funds to meet the minimum requirements of the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) as well as Start-up Visa Program.

You do not need to show proof of funds when applying under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or if you are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer.

How to calculate your family size?

The amount of money you need to support your family depends on the size of your family.

To calculate the size of your family you must include

  • Yourself

  • Your spouse or partner

  • Your dependent children and

  • Your spouse's dependent children.

The total number of people based on the mentioned categories is your family size.

Include your spouse and dependent children even if they are not going to Canada with you, or are Permanent residents or Canadian Citizens.
